It is all too frequently that I visit peoples gardens and hear that a good gardener is hard to find. As you have found me its likely you have found me via one of the professional bodies I belong too, such as the Gardeners Guild or Chartered Institute of Horticulture.
I joined these professional associations to demonstrate that I am a qualified horticulturist, and I continue my professional development constantly, via seminars, studying for higher qualifications, and more.
My aim as a gardener has always been to take a reasoned, evidence-based approach to how I manage peoples gardens. Garden myths such as using vinegar to kill weeds, not watering in sun because of sun scorch, adding crocks to the bottom of pots, don’t make a square planting hole and many more have no basis in fact and no place being touted by a professional.
What I practice is ‘right plant, right place’. My education and years of experience have given me excellent plant knowledge and I can identify when a plant isn’t positioned correctly in the garden. I know my shade loving plants from my sun loving perennials, and the soils they like.
By hiring a specialist gardener you can save money on your garden in the long run by solving issues before they become an expensive problem.
If you are not knowledgeable about gardens – and there’s no shame or judgement attached to that at all – then hiring an expert such as myself to come in and help is the perfect solution. I’ve done the research, got the qualifications and backed it up with experience so you don’t need to worry.
I can be booked for a garden consultation if you have specific issues you want my advice on, or even just want me to give you a report on your garden and what can be done from a horticultural point of view to improve it. You can also book me to come and maintain your garden on a regular basis, where I will be practising what I preach on every visit.
